WHAT IS RESTYLANE?
The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approved Restylane injectable gel is a cosmetic filler that contains hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance that is found in the body. HA gives volume and elasticity to the skin, but as the body ages, HA levels decrease, resulting in loose skin and wrinkling. When injected, Restylane gel is designed to plump the skin beneath lines and wrinkles, smoothing them out and making them less noticeable. Many patients seeking eyelid surgery are often surprised to learn that their problems can be corrected with Restylane. Dr. James Gordon is best known for his particular expertise with using Restylane in the tear trough area to hide dark circles and bags. Dr. Gordon is also one of 3% of doctors qualified as an ExpertInjector™ by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS). His patient before-and-after photos are frequently featured in the press.

Am I A Candidate for Restylane?
Restylane injectable treatments are suitable for any person older than 21 years old who is looking to refresh their overall appearance. Since it has several formulas, your treatment will be individualized to fit your needs and concerns. Restylane can help you correct initial signs of aging, such as fine lines throughout the face, or improve the fullness in your lips and cheeks. It can also improve moderate or severe wrinkles, like frown lines, laugh lines, Crow's feet, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and more. Some formulas contain lidocaine, so you need to share any allergies at your consultation with Dr. Gordon to avoid a negative reaction.
HOW DOES RESTYLANE WORK?
The most common areas for Restylane treatment are the tear trough (under eyes) area and the nasolabial folds (which run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth). Restylane injectable gel is also FDA-approved, for those 21 and older, for enhancing the lips. Dr. Gordon performs Restylane treatments in his office’s minor procedures room as an out-patient procedure in about 15 minutes.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER RESTYLANE TREATMENT?
Patients are able to leave immediately after their Restylane treatment and resume light to moderate activities. Dr. Gordon advises patients to wait at least 3 – 5 days before resuming strenuous activity. Patients should schedule a follow up appointment for 1 – 2 weeks after their treatment so Dr. Gordon can check their results and any side effects. Restylane treatments usually show results for up to 6 months, but this varies between patients. Eventually, the hyaluronic acid will be naturally and safely absorbed by the body and patients can receive another treatment.
HOW MUCH DOES RESTYLANE COST?
Patients should expect to pay between $750 and $1,400 for Restylane treatments. The cost will vary based on the amount of Restylane that Dr. Gordon uses during the session.
