Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA) is a neuromodulator similar to BOTOX that relaxes the facial muscles responsible for expression lines. - Dysport is an excellent alternative for patients who have not achieved optimal results with BOTOX or who prefer its diffusion characteristics. Like BOTOX, it is appropriate for dynamic wrinkles in healthy adults without contraindications to botulinum toxin products.
THE PROCEDURE
Dysport is injected in a similar fashion to BOTOX, with precise needle placement into targeted facial muscles. Due to its diffusion profile, slightly different dosing and injection patterns are used compared to BOTOX to achieve equivalent muscle relaxation. The treatment takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes with results lasting three to four months.
