AM I A CANDIDATE?
- Patients experiencing persistent dryness, burning, fluctuating vision, or excessive reflex tearing are candidates for dry eye evaluation and treatment. Contributing factors include meibomian gland dysfunction, environmental exposures, contact lens wear, prior refractive surgery, and certain systemic medications.
THE PROCEDURE
Dr. Gordon evaluates tear production and quality using advanced diagnostic testing before recommending a personalized treatment plan. Options may include prescription anti-inflammatory eye drops (cyclosporine or lifitegrast), warm compresses and lid hygiene protocols, in-office meibomian gland expression, punctal plug placement to retain tears, or advanced therapies such as intense pulsed light (IPL).
