Tumor Removal and Reconstruction
Vision & Precision
OVERVIEW
Eyelid and periorbital tumors — including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and benign lesions — require precise surgical removal combined with expert reconstruction to preserve both eye function and appearance. Dr. Gordon coordinates with Mohs surgeons and pathologists to ensure complete tumor clearance before performing aesthetic eyelid reconstruction.

Complete tumor removal with pathological confirmation of clear margins
Eyelid function and eye protection maintained after reconstruction
Expert oculoplastic reconstruction minimizes cosmetic impact
Coordination with Mohs surgery team for malignant skin cancers
Preserves natural eyelid architecture and appearance where possible
AM I A CANDIDATE?
- Patients with a confirmed or suspected eyelid growth, suspicious lesion, or skin cancer near the eye are candidates for evaluation and surgical treatment. Early assessment is critical — most eyelid malignancies are highly curable when caught early and managed by a specialist.
THE PROCEDURE
Following tumor removal (often via Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancers), Dr. Gordon performs individualized eyelid reconstruction using local tissue rearrangement, skin grafts, or flaps based on the size and location of the defect. Reconstruction is designed to restore the normal anatomy of the eyelid while achieving the most natural cosmetic result possible.
